Inspired by the life and legacy of legendary actor and humanitarian Leonard Nimoy, the Live Long and Prosper Tribute Award recognizes individuals whose lives exemplify compassion, wisdom, courage, service and a commitment to human dignity.

Julie Nimoy, president of the Nimoy-Knight Foundation and daughter of Leonard Nimoy, and David Knight, the foundation's CEO, said the three honorees reflect the values Leonard Nimoy championed throughout his life.
“David and I are thrilled to present Chancellor Daniel Diermeier, Vice Chancellor Darren Reisberg and Rabbi Shlomo Rothstein of Rohr Chabad with the ‘LLAP Tribute’ Award,” said Julie Nimoy. “My dad believed strongly in tolerance and diversity, respecting individual rights and supporting the Jewish community. Their work reflects the very ethos that my father championed throughout his life—bridging divides and building a more compassionate world. LLAP!”

Daniel Diermeier serves as Chancellor of Vanderbilt University, where he has championed academic excellence, strengthened campus community, and led efforts to ensure every member of the university can learn, teach, worship, and thrive in an environment of respect and belonging. His leadership has been instrumental in fostering dialogue, combating antisemitism, and advancing a culture of dignity and inclusion.
Vanderbilt University, Vice Chancellor for Operations and the Campus Network
As Vice Chancellor for Operations and the Campus Network, Darren Reisberg has played a vital role in strengthening Vanderbilt's commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive campus for all. A dedicated advocate for the Jewish community, he has worked closely with university leadership and Chabad at Vanderbilt to confront antisemitism, foster understanding, and ensure that every student has the opportunity to belong.
